No sure but the owner is the best and is very helpful!
My hubbie and I were in Alexandria visiting our grandson for the 4th of July holiday..we were going to leave that same day but we had tremendous car trouble and had to forego our leave...my daughter in law's father recommended this restaurant to us and he raved about the quality of the food so we decided to give it a try. The owner herself greeted us and took our order. After a brief conversation we found out we were city neighbors..i.e. Baton Rouge/New Orleans...The food was beyond delicious and truly reminded us of good ol' home cooking...It made our car troubles seem not that big of a deal.. Thanks Lil Cajun!!!! You truly made our stay memorable !!!!!#LilCajunisthe best!!!!
Delicious food! Large portions, super friendly staff. There is a bit of a wait, but it's worth it! I tried the fish po-boy, and my husband had the surf and turf. The remoulade was amazing!
My daughter and I were traveling back to Oklahoma and wanted to have some good Cajun food before we left Louisiana. She read the reviews and menus while driving and picked this place because of the info, plus its location along our route. Everything we had was wonderful! The fried shrimp were so fresh and lightly battered. We had many different items and all were great. Plus, the workers were also delightful to talk to. Stop in, you will not be disappointed.
Best po-boys west of NOLA.
My boyfriend and I visited Alexandria from MS and googled an authentic Cajun place to eat, and this was pretty much the only option. We waited 35 minutes for some kind of Cajun quesadilla that we had been recommended and it was one of the most awful things I’ve ever been served. The worst part was the fried shrimp, they were the big flat battered frozen kind like you get from a Chinese buffet, except they were undercooked and mushy grey in the middle. Even after picking those rancid things off, it was jambalaya smothered in kraft America singles cheese, with tasteless rubbery sausage and yellow sponge chicken. It was disgusting. We picked through it and ate some of the rice before my boyfriend started feelin nausea (probably from the grey shrimp). Was way overpriced and seriously disappointing. Would NOT recommend!!
Every thing that you read about the food is correct. We had the Red Beans and Rice....and that is how it is served LOTS of beans and sausage with just a little rice. The spice is cooked in not added. Soooo good. The Jumbilia is fantastic. The only bad thing is the serving size.....They are huge....come hungry or share. The only thing better then the food was the two ladies that were working there. Outgoing, Friendly and made us feel welcome. This is now our dinner stop and the way to NOLA from Oklahoma.
Best new Orleans style po boys in central Louisiana...
Hubby & I split the daily specials. We both ate for under 25.00. Food was outstanding
11:15 on a Tuesday. Wait was excruciating long. The jumbalaya was sticky...and warm at best.
Very good but very slow.
It is very good everytime I eat there it is even better you have to go try it
Best place to eat in Alexandria. I love the food great delicious area easy to locate. The owner is really sweet an nice.
Delicious food. Tons of options in immediate area, this is at top of list. Great atmosphere. They have great daily special items and drink variety. Prices are fair. Location in shopping center can be easy to miss if new to the area.
We were there yesterday it was some of the. Best Cajun food I've ever had plus the owner gave me a history lesson on poor boys and red beans and rice. I would totally recommend this place for people going thru Louisiana
Excellent food and variety.Busy little place. So, call ahead with your order.
love this place, the food is real good ,job well done, trust me
Great food. Long wait time.
I used to go here often. The food and service were amazing.
Excellent Red beans and Rice.
Gravy for the roast beef po-boy is thin and more of an au jus. The roast beef is warmed outside of the gravy so some pieces were tough. Where the peppers in my jambalaya? Eh.
Time from order to delivery was extremely long. Other plate of food came out at least ten minutes before my plate did. Food was just ok. Was truly looking for that bold, rich flavor that LA is known for. Selected this spot based on reviews and it was locally owned. Mildly disappointed in the quality of food that was put out for the price. Portions were fair but a $15 lunch special should have been bangin and it just wasn’t.
Most definitely an awesome place to eat the food was amazing and great customer service
If you're traveling through Louisiana away from the coast and wishing for some of that great spicy Louisiana cooking walk through the doors at "Little Cajun House" the smell is awesome makes you want to order the whole menu. They have a great selection of poor boys which is their speciality and if you're wondering about the seasoning your mouth can't stop watering from the smell while you're ordering so five stars guys great service cool relaxing eating area and good Southern la music in the background. You don't have to be on the coast to get some of that good Louisiana cooking
This was my first time eating here and i have to say it was great! Did not take long for them to cook my meal fresh. The service was great! And it was a nice atmosphere to be in as well. The food was delicious and not expensive at all. I will definitely be going back.
We were traveling through Louisiana and had a craving for fried catfish. On our route was a small cafe named Li'l Cajun House. It was a welcomed surprise. We could not have asked for better tasting catfish and shrimp. Would definitely recommend.
Food is great here and the service is excellent
This place has good, good sandwiches. They're fat. They're flavorful.I always order the sandwich called the "Little Cajun". The name makes it sound like a small sandwich, but it's the normal, big size. Be sure and ask for gravy on it. (I don't think the Little Cajun comes with gravy). And then, you need to ask for extra gravy in a cup too. Cause they don't put much on the sandwich. These are big, filling sandwiches. You can share one if y'all aren't super hungry. Like this place a lot. The sandwiches are reminiscent of Old Tyme Grocery in Lafayette. Good stuff!
The portions are huge and delicious. The food came out too hot to eat which was wonderful! The owner handmade me hush puppies on the spot because I made the comment I had been looking forward to hush puppies even though they were out of them. Excellent service and great food! I highly recommend swinging by here!
Shrimp was amazing! Muffuletta was huge and so good.
This place is amazing. Decided to stop while passing through and we were thoroughly impressed.
Ran by a very sweet lady. Really good food and neat kitschy little place.
Im Shreveport and i talk to the lady from New Orleans at this business ...and all i can say this food taste like love...i didnt get her name....but she will surely see more of me...thank you it was just great...taste just like home
Fanatic food! Great service as well. When ordering I mentioned I didn't like boudin and I was graciously offered some to try. I still didn't like it, but my guest loved it. He gobbled it up, commenting that it was perfectly seasoned and excellent boudin. I had the red beans and rice which was sooo good! We both tried the Cajun quesadilla, and found that to be equally delicious.
Very Fresh and yummy. We are just starting our Louisiana food exploration and this was a great starting point. I’m not sure how authentic the spicing was because it wasn’t spicy / spiced at all... but still the flavor was great and definitely fresh! It is a minimally staffed restaurant so if there are more then 3 people ordering it can take some time. Comfortable family atmosphere. They would benefit from a good wiping down of the tables and chairs- it wasn’t dirty but all the surfaces did feel “sticky”
Great tender roast beef with gravy Po Boy!Friendly service, clean.
Big portions and delicious food.
I'm originally from New Orleans and this is like taking a trip home great food and staff def will be back
This place is amazing. We ordered a fish plate and oh my it was good and the fish was not greasy at all. Highly recommended!
They make the Best po- boys, Lots of meat put on them. Very nice and clean place to eat lunch
This is the best sandwich shop in Alexandria. New Orleans bread loaded with your choice of meats. The owner and the staff are super nice. Just a make you feel good place.
This food is so good and authentic tasting.
The shrimp pasta salad is great. Very generous and cheap for what u get
Awesome fried Catfish!
The food was delicious! The owner was so wonderful!! This is a true Cajun food restaurant, however she did have other entrees. The jambalaya is awesome as is the boudin. The shrimp jambalaya quesadilla was awesome! We highly recommend this as a stop when in Alexandria Louisiana.
I love everything on the menu! The prices are just right and the food is delicious! Y’all should try the Cochon de Lait sandwich—- it’s to-die-for! The gumbo, the shrimp poboy, boudin and fried fish! Omg! So 😋 yummy!
Food was really good. I would definitely recommend this place.
The poor boys are outstanding ... Go forth young padawan and consume mass quantities...
stumbled across this place and I must say the food was good... DEFINITELY COMING BACK
